As a Wales international for Rugby Union XV a side, touch rugby and 7’s rugby, Philippa played in 2 World Cups, 6 European Championships, 6 Home Nations and 4 Six Nations; she has won both Welsh International Player of the Year and Welsh Touch Rugby Player of the Year.
Philippa balances her unpaid international career with working full-time as a builder. She owns the UK’s only all-female building company, F.B.I Female Building and Interiors, is a Construction Excellence Ambassador, a Youth Entrepreneur Role Model, a TV presenter for Channel 4’s The Renovation Game and presents her own show on UKTV, ‘DIY with Philippa’.
She is an active supporter of women’s sport in general and an ambassador for the Women’s Sport Trust. Phillipa believes that women’s sport matters for the same reasons that all sport matters: “Personally I have found that sport has allowed me to meet people that I otherwise wouldn’t have met, go to places I wouldn’t necessarily have visited and experienced new cultures. Women’s sport, like any, teaches you about teamwork and helps build your character. It is also important for young girls to have strong role models and women’s sport can help with this by showing girls that by setting yourself goals, being ambitious and working hard there are no limits to what you can achieve.
