ABOUT PHILIPPA

Philippa grew up in Cardiff, attending Eglwys Newydd Primary School before moving onto Bishop Of Llandaff High School.

With both parents self employed, entrepreneurialism was in her blood! Her father ran a successful building company and from an early age Philippa loved helping out but never thought of a career in construction.

She went to Cardiff University to study a BA in Communications. It was at Cardiff that she had the opportunity to try rugby. She quickly fell in love with the sport and became determined to be the best athlete she could be.

On graduating from Cardiff University she got a call up to the National Womens 15’s team for their summer Tour to South Africa and from their her international career began.

Philippa then went onto Cardiff Metropolitan University to complete a Sports Massage and Strength and Conditioning course.

In 2007 Philippa realised the gap in the market for a building company that could offer a female work force and set up Female Building and Interiors.

She then went on to have a TV career as the first female builder on national TV with Channel 4's the renovation game, Channel 5's My New Home for 5K and currently has her own DIY show called DIY With Philippa on UKTV.

Alongside all of this Philippa has gone on to be Internationally capped at Rugby Union, Rugby 7’s and Touch Rugby.

Philippa Plays her Club Rugby at Bristol Ladies and Regional rugby for Cardiff Blues.

Passionate about Giving back, Philippa is a mentor, role model and coach.

Philippa retired from rugby 15’s in 2015 to concentrate on rugby 7’s. Achieving her ultimate dream to captain the welsh womens team at the Common Wealth Games.
